Free Guy stars Ryan Reynolds as an NPC Character in the video game world known as Free City. During the movie, he develops a conscience and begins to live his own life outside of his programming. The movie features big action sequences, great comedic banter, endless pop culture references, and developing romances.
This movie was a super fun time, it's not trying to be anything serious and so it really leans into the fun of the concept. It's also unexpectedly smarter than it looks. The actors all do a fantastic job, each of them carrying something unique into their roles. The big highlights were the characters Blue Shirt Guy and Antwan, and I also appreciated the surprising dramatic scenes near the end which really make the movie feel worth it. Top-tier escapism, so if you're in need of a break from real life, or some stress relief, Free Guy does a fantastic job of sucking you in and taking you on an adventure. Would be a great movie with the family, or you can do what I did and watch it by yourself, which is just as awesome.
All in all, a blast of a time, and yes, it is worth your precious time if you give it a chance.
Hey Owen, good job in your post, I really liked your overview about this movie and I am definitely watching this, after your explanation of the highlights it caught my attention and I like this time of movie that is nothing too serious and that in the end always have a dramatic scene where we all get our attention caught. So well done on this post, and I am looking forward to read more movies overviews.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great overview. You really explained the movie; talking about the characters, theme, and your personal likes about the movie. After reading the highlights I will definitely pay more attention to Blue Shirt Guy and Antwan than some of the other characters. From this overview I really want to go watch this movie when I get the chance.
