"Fractured" follows a man who takes his daughter to the hospital after an accident that hurt her arm on the way home from Thanksgiving. But a head injury to himself makes him question the legitimacy of what's actually going on in the hospital. This movie was gripping right from the get-go, however even though it struggled to maintain that investment, the first attempt is something to behold. The mystery and aura of the world, while at first felt post-apocalyptic, set up the alley-oop for a slam dunk.
The direction is actually very very good. Usage of the camera to create the feelings of “something is definitely wrong”. With subtle shots that are all doing something important. Supported in big part by a wonderfully creepy soundtrack. The actors all do a really good job too. Nothing feels out of place there. I would compare it to another movie but that would be major spoilers, even though you know the ending within 30 minutes in.
Great lead performance and execution in the technicalities overall make this one very memorable, but it frustrates me as it’s so close to being more than that. It's very very close to being amazing, but unfortunately, it fails to slam that dunk.
So, is it worth your precious time? Probably not to be honest, but if you like psychological thrillers, give it a try, just don't expect to be surprised by any twists.
Hey Owen, I think after reading your review to this movie made me think twice about watching it because you made us question ourselves if it is really worth to watch and as you I do not like too much those types of movies so it probably saved me some time of watching this, but good review overall.
