Venom: Let There Be Carnage

"Venom: Let There be Carnage" is the sequel to the successful Marvel Comics Adaptation "Venom" from 2018. About a news reporter who gets infected with an alien parasite, and they develop a sort of buddy cop friendship. While it’s hard to tell if this was a lazy attempt at a movie solely to get to the post credit scene, or if it was made out of complete amusement and embracement to how ridiculous it is, Venom succeeds at entertaining for the least.
Tom Hardy is having so much fun talking to himself literally for an hour and a half straight, and I could watch Tom Hardy talking to himself for many more hours straight. The action scenes and cgi are near top notch visual entertainment. The goofiness does feel purposeful, even if it sometimes feels like an excuse to follow the same tropes without trying to make it unique.
Woody Harrelson also brings the fun to the movie, and that pretty much sums up what makes this movie win. I think, I repeat, I think… this movie was pure fun to make. For everyone. Little worry for the obvious issues, and simply making choices that are the most fun for them. They take what should be uninspired and make it into something to sit back and enjoy, just like the bag of popcorn you ate while watching it, you know it’s bad for you but can’t help eating anyways. I think that’s something to commend. It’s not something we see often, with movies trying to be more meaningful and serious than they really are.
So is it worth your precious time? I'd say so, if you want to sit back and escape for an hour and a half. Yeah this one's pretty short.
This movie was one of my favorites to come out in 2021. I never seen something so crazy, scary, and funny all in one. It is definitely a movie I would suggest for others to watch as long as they are older than 18 years of age
