A Western! There hasn't really been a new modern western in a while, at least from what I have seen. So I was extremely excited when I saw the trailer for this one. Starring Jonathan Majors as an notorious outlaw in the Wild West, who rounds up his gang to hunt down the man who killed his family. Who happens to be another notorious outlaw himself. 

Supported by an absolutely ridiculous cast including Idris Elba, Regina King, LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz, this movie is an all out stylistic western that leans in to all the clichés you'd expect from a gunslinger movie. While also being able to have it's own identity for the most part. The movie looks so nice, and is backed up by a pretty badass soundtrack that in itself is super unique. 

The performances were as good as one would expect, and the colorful characters really carry this movie to the end. Because if you do step back and look at the movie it's a pretty basic and repetitive plot that we've seen many many times previously. But I feel like the movie knows this and so it plays with the tropes and clichés fairly well. Overall it was an extremely all out fun blast of a movie that will make Western fans gleefully happy. Many moments had me grinning big. Definitely worth your precious time, it's on Netflix by the way so watch it.
